Pain is the most prominent symptom of Fibromyalgia. It usually affects the entire body, although it may start in one area, such as the neck and shoulders, and spread to other areas over a period of time. Fibromyalgia is a form of generalized muscular pain and fatigue. The name, Fibromyalgia, means pain in the muscles and the fibrous connective tissues (the ligaments and tendons).
You (or someone you know) may be experiencing moderate or severe fatigue with lack of energy, decreased endurance, or the extreme exhaustion that resembles that which you experience while suffering from the flu. In many cases the fatigue is a more severe problem than the pain. Headaches, especially tension and migraine headaches, are common in Fibromyalgia. Abdominal pain, bloating, alternating constipation, bladder spasms, and irritability may cause urinary urgency or frequency. Your skin and blood circulation can be sensitive to temperature changes, resulting in temporary changes in skin color.
Have you been suffering from Fibromyalgia? Maybe you've been in pain for months or maybe even years. Some suffer only minor symptoms, while others (perhaps you or a loved one) feel the debilitating affects of Fibromyalgia and are kept from participating in their life, making even simple daily activities almost impossible.
The sad truth is, that for most who suffer from fibromyalgia they are told that they just have to live with it, or even worse, "its all just in your head." Most are given no true relief from the suffering.
The exciting fact is that at Mounds View Chiropractic we are helping people who are suffering from debilitating Fibromyalgia get their life back. The truth is that in most cases of fibromyalgia, the problem really is in your head. You see, Fibromyalgia is often times caused by neurological deficits. Through a thorough neurological evaluation Dr. Huffman can find out if your fibromyalgia is neurological, and if so where the deficit is located in the brain. Then we apply Oxygen Enhanced Brain Based Therapies to treat that area of deficit.
Treatments can include gentle ‘neurologically specific’ adjustments, eye exercises, warm water calorics and many other activities, all while on oxygen. These techniques coupled with a full neurological and nutritional workup have enabled us to help most of our patients get rid of their chronic symptoms no matter how long they have been experiencing them.
Imagine how different your life would be if you were free from the burdens that Fibromyalgia causes you.
